In a competitive rematch of the previous year’s election cycle, attorney Erik Olsen once again faced Charity Barry, who manages ground crews. Their initial encounter saw Olsen win by just a narrow margin of 63 votes, as reported by Wisconsin Public Radio.

With this victory secured, Olsen is set to go head-to-head with Rep. Pocan for his seat that he has maintained since being first elected back in 2013.

“The race has remained fairly subdued in a district that traditionally doesn’t lean Republican,” stated Barry Burden, a political science professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison during an interview with Wisconsin Public Radio. “Nonetheless, this presents an opportunity for the GOP to select their leading candidate and attempt to contest what would be considered a challenging seat,” he added.
