An Overview of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park
The vast expanse of Australia’s Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, stretching as long as the entire U.S. West Coast, is home to around 10% of the world’s coral reefs. This remarkable site includes approximately 3,000 individual coral reefs, over 600 continental islands, 300 coral cays, and about 150 inshore mangrove islands.
