The peculiar video aimed to highlight the 2022 CHIPS and Science Act, which allocated nearly $53 billion towards revitalizing semiconductor supply chains within the United States. However, various religious organizations expressed that it trivialized the sacrament of Holy Communion.
In light of the criticism, Gov. Whitmer issued an apology, asserting that her intention was never to mock individuals’ faiths.

CatholicVote’s National Political Director conveyed that Sunday’s rally stemmed from significant concern regarding actions perceived as undermining respect for Eucharistic dignity amid increasing anti-Catholic sentiments among some progressive factions.
“It is deeply troubling when our faith and its core beliefs are openly ridiculed,” he remarked. He further noted that prayer holds immense power—especially when directed toward national leaders—and emphasized that this rally served both as a plea for Gov.
