The Delano in Las Vegas is set for a significant transformation as it transitions into a luxurious W Hotel by year-end. This development marks another milestone in the ongoing collaboration between MGM Resorts International and Marriott International.
According to reports from FOX5 Vegas, this upscale hotel will be situated at the southern end of the iconic strip and is anticipated to welcome guests later this year. Steve Zanella, president of MGM Resorts operations, expressed enthusiasm about their partnership with Marriott, stating that it has surpassed expectations and highlighted the strength of Marriott’s brand portfolio and distribution capabilities.
A New Era for Luxury Hospitality
“The introduction of W Las Vegas represents our commitment to providing guests with an unparalleled luxury lifestyle experience,” Zanella remarked. “This hotel will embody a unique personality along with dynamic programming and exceptional service.” The opening aligns with their strategic agreement established earlier this year.
MGM Collection Expands on The Strip
While specific details regarding amenities or an exact opening date are still pending, MGM has announced that once operational, W Las Vegas will enhance its collection under Marriott Bonvoy on the strip to 12 properties. This impressive lineup includes renowned establishments such as Bellagio Hotel & Casino, ARIA Resort & Casino, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, and Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino.
Since launching their partnership earlier this year, MGM has reported that bookings have significantly exceeded initial forecasts—a promising sign for both companies involved.
Ongoing Revitalization in Sin City
The transformation at Delano isn’t an isolated event; several other properties in Las Vegas are undergoing major renovations as well. Earlier this year, Bellagio unveiled exciting updates including innovative dining options and refreshed poolside cabanas alongside revamped guest rooms within its Spa Tower. Additionally, Wynn Las Vegas showcased new designs for exclusive private villas.
This month also saw significant changes when officials demolished Tropicana—one of the city’s historic hotels established in 1957—to pave way for a new 30,000-seat MLB stadium intended for Oakland Athletics baseball games.
