Elon Musk’s super PAC is making headlines with its substantial investment in advertising on X, illustrating how the billionaire entrepreneur’s political ambitions are increasingly intertwined with his commercial ventures.
As per the latest available data from X, which was acquired by Musk in 2022, his “America PAC” has allocated $201,021 for advertisements since early July. This financial commitment reflects a strategic approach to influence public opinion through social media platforms.
The America PAC transitioned from using @theamericapac to @america earlier this month and has successfully garnered close to 35 million views across its ads. These advertisements have been specifically directed at users located in key swing states such as Arizona, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Georgia, and North Carolina.
Among its most prominent posts is an advertisement that claims Vice President Kamala Harris has transformed Georgia into a “border state,” urging viewers not to allow her actions to “burn our country.” This particular post includes a link directing users to a voter registration site managed by the PAC and boasts over 3.1 million views.

A representative for America PAC chose not to provide any comments regarding their advertising strategy. WIRED was among the first outlets to report this spending trend earlier this week.
The revenue generated for X through America PAC remains relatively modest compared to Musk’s personal investment of at least $75 million into this initiative; thus far he hasn’t seen any profit from it. However, his sights are set on achieving something much larger: supporting Donald Trump’s election campaign.
If Trump secures victory in upcoming elections, it could grant Musk increased leverage within governmental circles—potentially including participation in a proposed “government-efficiency commission,” which Trump has indicated he would implement if elected.
To date, America PAC has committed over $100 million towards Trump’s election efforts along with an additional $10 million aimed at supporting various House GOP candidates. Recently announced plans include awarding $1 million daily to registered voters in swing states who sign his petition—a move that some legal experts suggest may breach electoral laws.
