This will mark her first significant public engagement following the conclusion of her chemotherapy.
Kate Middleton is gearing up for a busy weekend. Buckingham Palace has officially announced that the Princess of Wales will participate in the annual Festival of Remembrance at Royal Albert Hall on Saturday, followed by Remembrance Sunday at The Cenotaph war memorial in London, honoring those who have fallen from the U.K. and Commonwealth.
These two occasions will signify Middleton’s first major return to royal responsibilities after she completed her chemotherapy treatment in September. Last month, she had a heartwarming meeting with 16-year-old cancer patient and aspiring photographer Liz Hatton at Windsor Castle. Shortly thereafter, she made a surprise visit alongside Prince William to Southport to meet with emergency responders who assisted victims of a mass stabbing incident during a Taylor Swift-themed dance party earlier this summer.
The Princess of Wales has been attending the Remembrance Sunday ceremony annually since marrying Prince William in 2011, including throughout all three pregnancies with their children—Prince George (11), Princess Charlotte (9), and Prince Louis (6).
Buckingham Palace also disclosed that King Charles, along with Prince William, Prince Edward and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh; the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester; and the Duke of Kent are set to attend this year’s commemorative events. However, Queen Camilla’s participation remains uncertain as she is currently recovering from a chest infection.
Apart from gradually resuming her royal duties, reports indicate that Middleton is also back in training at the gym as she continues to recover from her health challenges. Royal biographer Robert Jobson shared insights with Hello!, stating: “From what I gather, Catherine is doing remarkably well. She’s back working out and engaging in activities she’s passionate about.” He further noted that we can expect to see more public appearances from her while continuing behind-the-scenes work.
However, rather than diving headfirst into numerous engagements right away, Jobson anticipates that Middleton will prioritize significant events while ensuring quality time with family remains central.
“Her primary focus will be on family commitments while still participating in key events,” he elaborated. “William is eager for her return but it doesn’t imply an immediate surge in engagements one after another. They plan on traveling again soon; I expect them to undertake at least one tour next year. Catherine may handle some solo engagements so William can stay home with their children.”
