EXCLUSIVE ON FOX: The Senate campaign of war veteran Sam Brown in Nevada is responding vigorously to accusations from a staff member of his Democratic opponent and a representative of the state’s Democratic Party, who have branded him as engaging in a ”grift” for promoting his new book that chronicles his recovery journey from severe injuries suffered in Afghanistan.
“Rest assured, Sam, there will be ample opportunity for you to market your latest scheme post-November 5,” remarked Johanna Warshaw, communications director for Jacky Rosen’s Senate campaign, on X last week. This comment came as Brown shared details about his book, which he claims illustrates “how I transformed some of the most daunting challenges I faced into purpose and hope through helping others.”
A retired Army captain and Purple Heart awardee, Brown survived devastating injuries due to an IED explosion during his military deployment in Afghanistan back in 2008, leading to significant facial scars.
The accusations against him did not end with Warshaw’s comments; the Nevada Democratic Party also joined the fray by alleging that selling this memoir constitutes a form of exploitation.
“Another grift just launched!” exclaimed Nevada State Democratic Party spokesperson Katharine Kurz in a post on X, reacting to Brown’s promotion of the memoir.
In response to these allegations, Kristy Wilkinson, communications director for Brown’s campaign stated to Fox News Digital: “Jacky Rosen has revealed her true nature.”
“The disdain expressed towards our U.S. Military Veterans and Wounded Warriors is quite telling. It insults every serviceman and woman who has bravely served this nation,” Wilkinson continued. “Such behavior is reprehensible coming from someone expected to represent all Nevadans. Captain Brown would never engage in such low tactics or demean our veterans; he believes partisanship should never dictate how we treat one another.”
The Rosen campaign did not respond when Fox News Digital sought their input regarding these proclamations.
The Nevada Democrats justified their claims about the book being exploitative by stating:
“After launching a questionable PAC last election cycle that was used irresponsibly like a slush fund at the expense of grassroots supporters while settling personal debts, Scam Brown now seems intent on leveraging this electoral bid simply to promote a book for personal profit,” Kurz told Fox News Digital.
