David Harbour has acknowledged that he can be one of “Stranger Things'” most vocal critics; however, he believes that the series finale is commendable.
During a recent appearance at New York Comic Con for a 10th anniversary celebration of Josh Horowitz’s “Happy Sad Confused” podcast, Harbour shared insights about the show’s concluding season. He has frequently joined Horowitz to discuss various projects including ”Stranger Things” and his role in “Thunderbolts.”
“We just completed a read-through for our final episode,” said Harbour to an audience where Business Insider was present. He noted his close connection to the show often leads him to have strong opinions which may differ from those held by fans.
As someone with insider knowledge as an actor on set, he admitted there are times when he feels frustrated with certain episodes. However, this was not one of those instances regarding the finale.

The actor emphasized how pivotal “Stranger Things” has been for its younger cast members who grew up alongside it. Stars like Noah Schnapp, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Caleb McLaughlin, and Gaten Matarazzo were mere teenagers when they first appeared on screen back in 2016; now they are stepping into adulthood—a theme reflected beautifully within this concluding chapter according to Harbour.
“Stranger Things” stands out as one of Netflix’s most successful productions ever; two out of its four seasons rank among its top English-language offerings. Notably, Season Four alone has amassed an impressive 1.8 billion hours viewed according to data released by Netflix itself.
