As part of our uniform policy for my airline, wearing heels was indeed obligatory. This included being in them at the airport during boarding and when greeting guests upon entry into the aircraft.
However, once we ascended into the skies post-takeoff, we were allowed to switch into more comfortable flats for ease of movement.
Aren’t breaks taken by flight attendants during flights?
The possibility of taking breaks relies heavily on flight duration.
On domestic journeys, it’s common for us not to have scheduled breaks. In my personal experience, food consumption times were only allotted after our services concluded.
The scenario alters drastically for international trips. Here we are legally mandated to have rest periods that occur within designated compartments above economy seating — areas that only crew members can access safely.
This allows us to rotate; while some team members serve passengers, others enjoy necessary downtime away from public view!

Although pay varies widely depending largely upon seniority level amongst staff members— generally speaking though; salaries consist mainly based solely upon hours worked (flights).

Any time spent waiting around gates or dealing with logistics remains unpaid.nFor instance—if one travels from New York down through Chicago (roughly two-hour duration), she/he would receive payment strictly corresponding with this travel span alone!
