Throughout his 20-year tenure at the helm of what is now known as Meta, Mark Zuckerberg has experienced numerous evolutions in his professional persona. During a live-streamed discussion with NVIDIA’s CEO Jensen Huang, however, Zuckerberg appeared to stray beyond his typical narrative.

The conversation commenced on familiar grounds as both technology magnates exchanged congratulatory remarks regarding their advancements in artificial intelligence. Zuckerberg utilized this platform to highlight Meta’s latest initiatives and developments before steering the dialogue towards recurrent themes he has been focusing on lately.
Frustration with Proprietary Ecosystems

Zuckerberg articulated his sentiments candidly when explaining that his response to rejection is simply: “Forget that.” He elaborated further questioning how it feels after investing years into building a company only to face barriers imposed by external platform providers over projects he aims to pursue.
“It’s somewhat self-serving,” he noted candidly. “But after dedicating so long constructing this business, my goal for the next decade or so is ensuring we create fundamental technologies for crafting social experiences.” His frustration was palpable as he continued: “I’ve encountered too many instances where I envisioned an idea only for it to be dismissed by those controlling these platforms—at some point you just have enough and think ‘no more of that.’”
This revelation led Huang humorously lamenting about potential ramifications regarding their broadcast opportunities while Zuckerberg acknowledged his own blaze of anger triggered by discussions around closed ecosystems.
“Sorry about that,” Zuckerberg admitted jokingly; ”but once I start discussing closed platforms, it really gets under my skin.”
