Well done if you managed to ‌solve today’s purple category without relying solely on luck; it was indeed quite peculiar. I certainly needed⁤ some good fortune myself since the‌ connection—WORDS THAT SEEM LONGER WHEN WRITTEN‍ THAN SPOKEN—is rather unusual. ⁣For instance, isn’t this somewhat reliant‌ on understanding language nuances? If one is unaware that PHARAOH has a silent second A⁢ sound might mispronounce it as PHAR-A-OH.‍ However this applies equally to KNOW or‌ TRUE—it all boils ⁣down to English! I’m‍ not convinced PHARAOH actually appears longer when⁢ written compared ‌to spoken form at all. Perhaps WORCESTERSHIRE could fit into this category but only if ‍you’ve‍ never visited England before—it feels arbitrary.

My approach ⁣was somewhat related; I focused instead on missing syllables although my guesses were more hopeful than informed by then I’d lost track of what ⁤else⁤ might fit there. The other challenge came from‌ my blue group which included CALCULUS—a term I’d never encountered regarding⁣ DENTIST CONCERNS—apparently another⁣ name⁢ for TARTAR so having both terms seems redundant overall.
