Aetherflux plans to create a network of low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites that will capture solar energy and transmit it back down using infrared lasers.
Bhatt envisions Aetherflux transforming the energy landscape much like Elon Musk’s Starlink has revolutionized communications. He expressed this vision during an interview with Business Insider.
The ground-based receptors for this power transmission will be compact—only about 10 meters wide—allowing them to be installed almost anywhere. This could potentially provide electricity even in remote areas that are typically hard or costly to access.
“If we succeed,” he stated in a LinkedIn post, “we unlock renewable energy sources for humanity that can reach virtually any location.”
If successful, Aetherflux could capture significantly more solar power from orbit compared to what is possible through atmospheric conditions on Earth’s surface. Additionally, this method would eliminate disruptions caused by nighttime or adverse weather conditions while freeing up land currently used for terrestrial solar farms.
Bhautt indicated that their initial focus would be on supplying power for military operations or remote mining activities where traditional power sources are impractical or too expensive.
