As detailed by the company, Alexandre de Moraes, president of the Superior Electoral Court and a Supreme Federal Court justice, allegedly threatened one of X’s legal representatives with incarceration if they failed to adhere to his censorship directives.

As reported by Reuters, de Moraes called for the removal of specific content from X’s platform. Instead of complying with these demands, X has decided to terminate its local operations as a means to “ensure the safety of our personnel.”
